Re: [BLUG] Great meeting tonight, some notes

I agree, this was an especially great meeting (and thanks for the pizza,
Mark!). Socializing and what-not is always among my favorite
activities; given the opportunity, I'll generally talk until somebody
punches me in the mouth. I dug meeting at the SUSO offices- it was nice
not having a set end-time.

Here is a small addendum to Mark's set of links:
The "Fluck Mill Road" Wunderground Weather Station is run from an iMac
(last I heard) at fellow a geek's farmhouse:

Somebody had talked about (or asked about?) the VMWare Virtual
Appliances. VMWare has a *ton* of community-supplied, pre-built virtual
machines for use with VMWare Player and VMWare server. All you gotta do
is download and start having fun. There are all sorts of things,
including many linux distros. My personal favorites are the Squid proxy
and Trixbox (an Asterisk phone system appliance):

The Asterisk (FOSS PBX phone system) website:

Digium makes (and sells) Linux-based Asterisk hardware and such, for
those desiring a turn-key sort of thing:
