Re: [BLUG] OCT Meeting Topic

Scott,

you're right - no projector would make for a sorry presentation indeed. i
think that doing this next month is much better overall.

there is a think-o in your october meeting announcement.

Re: [BLUG] LDAP server and email

I have before. SLES included a schema.

[BLUG] LDAP server and email

Is anyone on the list using openldap and extendending the schema.
And/or are you using ldap to do email routing lookup tables?

I'm just wondering if there is a standard for this type of schema
before I go off and create my own attributes.

Re: [BLUG] OCT Meeting Topic

Ben,
I do not have a projector for this meeting, so that is probably going
to be a problem.

You are welcome to present next month if you would like.

Thank you,
Scott Blaydes

[BLUG] October meeting announcement - Oct. 9th @ 7pm

---------------------------------------------------------------
Bloomington Linux Users Group

35th meeting
September 9th @ 7pm
Monroe County Library Room 1B
---------------------------------------------------------------

Please join the Bloomington Linux Users Group for a "Bring your own
bugs" meeting and general discussion of Linux, including reports from
Ohio LinuxFest 2007. If you have something you would like to show the
group, feel free to bring it, but please note that we do not have a
projector for this meeting.

Scott Blaydes also hopes to get some input for a upcoming presentation
he is doing for the Monroe County Library.

If the meeting ends early and there are interested parties, we may also
venture to a local restaurant or pub afterwards.

[BLUG] NOV meeting topic

So I and a few others were at the Ohio Linux Conference. While
I was there, I talked to some folks from Foresight Linux:

http://www.foresightlinux.org/

It looks like a really interesting distribution, particularly
for folks that like GNOME, as their release schedule closely
follows that of GNOME. (As in, their users have the next
version of GNOME before it hits the official GNOME servers.)

It also has some interesting features for folks that like the
bleeding edge. The package management system appears to integrate
features more commonly found in version control systems -- to
the point that configuration file changes are merged in, instead
of over-writing the whole file. Additionally the system supports
package roll-back back to the point of the initial installation.

In any case, I think it sounds like an interesting distribution
that many people may be interested in hearing about. Unfortunately,
I don't have the time to play with it. However, I thought I'd
mention it for the November meeting. Someone else may be equally
interested, and if they're going to check it out, they may as well
share with us what their thoughts and feelings are.

Cheers,
Steven Black

Re: [BLUG] OCT Meeting Topic

Ben:

I'm a big fan of Inkscape. I've used it off-and-on to play
with icons and things.

I'd be interested in hearing tips and tricks.

Cheers,
Steven Black

That is correct, it is Tuesday the 9th. -- Tomorrow, in fact.

Is anyone else looking forward to the inkscape/vector graphics
presentation? If so I'll set my alarm clock. And drag my server into the
library. Is the room reserved or should I do that today too?

Or I could sleep through it all.. sounding pretty good right about now..
