Well, I'm of the opinion (and I may be wrong) that for things like
games, people will forget about it by Saturday. I use the schedule on
the wiki as a primary source for people. Then the announcement on
Friday or Saturday is a reminder. Maybe I should email the upcoming
schedule for the next few weeks on Mondays to the list and then remind
on Saturdays. maybe the reminder isn't needed, we're all organized
people right (/me looks around at very messy desk).

That's fine. I don't really want to get too far out. Bloomington,
surrounding area, Indianapolis and the rest of Indiana are ok too, but
I'd like to keep it mostly people that we know from the list, meetings
and so on. That makes it more fun. Besides, once we get people from a
bigger pond, then you have better players come in and then its less
accessible for beginners. And making gaming appealing both for
non-gamers and for Linux users is what this is mostly about. I want
people to realize that there are games available and that they are
decent. Its not just about playing.

Sure. I've actually thought about posting to the Ubuntu Indiana list,
if you want to do that, be my guest.

Yeah, I was going to ask if anyone minded some non-local players as long
as it was Linux Users. Do you object to me inviting some of my friends
from the West Texas LUG (http://wtlug.org)?

Thank you,
Scott Blaydes

keep the local flavor) The bigger pond you fish, the more fish you're
likely to catch (I don't think that's actually TRUE, but I can't think
of a better metaphor right now...).

The more fish in the pond the better chance of catching one?

Sounds like an awesome strategy. Hey, it's been working for drug
dealers (and Novell) since the dawn of time ;-)

Another good strategy might be to announce the games, like, on Monday,
so the people who're interested in that game have the whole week to
prepare and practice and such.

Would you maybe want me to pass your gaming announcements on other
mailing lists I'm on? (Ubuntu-Indiana and Fort Wayne LUG primarily, to
keep the local flavor) The bigger pond you fish, the more fish you're
likely to catch (I don't think that's actually TRUE, but I can't think
of a better metaphor right now...).

It might be worth passing them the survey too, first, to see how many
fish are in those ponds...

Well, we might not play it for a while now. I've had almost no luck
getting people to play.

I'm going to change the schedule around so that its all open
source/free games for the next two months. Hopefully this will drum up
interest and then we can throw some commercial games in the mix again.

I'm sorry noone showed up, Mark. I definitely would have if I'd had
the game, as I was sitting at home playing Civilization IV
(just...one...more...turn...).

I hereby pledge to get a couple of copies of this game this coming
paycheck so that my fiancée and I can join in on a future date. I'm
even copying her on this so she can bug me about it (and she will...).

I hope this finds you all having a grand morning!
