Last chance before the yard sale.

$100 for the whole lot. My wife says the Atari stuff is worth at least $90.

[BLUG] OT: Old game systems anyone?

We have a number of old game systems which we will be selling at a yard
sale this weekend. (Corner of Hillside and Palmer in Bloomington this
Sat/Sun 8am-3pm.)

I wanted to see if anyone was interested in purchasing them as a lump
before the yard sale.

There are:
2 original Nintendo systems
There are a lot of games, including Nintendo storage box
We have regular controllers, guns, wireless controller,
joystick controller. We have 20 or more games.
This includes a head cleaner cartridge.
Atari 2600 and 7800 w/ regular + padel controllers
There are a lot of games, including a catridge stand
We may have close to 50 games (with only a few duplicates).
We have literature for many games, and two original Atari
catalogs.
1 Nintendo N64 - We have a few games for this.
1 Sega Genesis
I don't know that we have any games for this system,
but you do see them pop up at Goodwill and pawn shops.
This includes RF adapters to connect them to TVs.

The majority of it is in a "medium" U-haul box, with some overflow.

I would love to sell the entire lot to someone. In particular, it would
mean I wouldn't have to split it out, as my wife is thinking of selling
them at the yard sale in smaller lots.

Please note: For the MAME fans, owning a cartidge gives you rights to
use the game in any system. Also, the games actually do sell online, so
for the patient (with space) it may be possible to make money from this.

We're asking $150 for the entire lot. It will be more expensive at the
yard sale.

These were my wife's games. We're trading these in as we have a baby on
the way.

Cheers,
Steven Black

[BLUG] Looking to Sell my Computer

Hey everybody,

I'm looking to sell my newer Dell desktop to buy a newer laptop.  I was wondering what you all thought was a fair price for the machine (and of course, if anyone is interested let me know :)  I bought it less than a year ago from Dell.  It is an XPS something or other, I'm not at homer right now so I don't remember the exact model number, I just know it's not the top of the line XPS behemoth.

Intel Quad core @ 2.4ghz
2gigs ram
nvidia 8600 gt
320gig main hd, 2 500 gig extra sata drives  (all western digital 7200rpm)
dual layer dvd burner
19' widescreen dell monitor (which, btw, has a damaged stand.  the monitor works fine, but the stand is a bit messed up)
Vista Home premium came with it as well

Thanks!

Ben

[BLUG] IU LinuxFest and Indiana LinuxFest planning

As you may be aware, Indiana University has hosted an IU LinuxFest for
the past 9 years and is again hosting IU LinuxFest at IU Bloomington
this October. Due to reorganization at IU, their sponsorship of the
annual LinuxFest is ending. Leaders from several Indiana LUGs
(including the Bloomington, Central Indiana, and Fort Wayne LUGS)
decided to start an Indiana LinuxFest to continue on the tradition of
having an annual LinuxFest in Indiana. Richard Knepper from IU would
like assistance in planning this year's IU LinuxFest and would also like
to discuss transitioning to an Indiana LinuxFest for the future. Please
let me know your availability over the next week so we can arrange a
meeting (most likely a conference call or video conference) to discuss
the future of LinuxFests in Indiana.

Re: [BLUG] Linuxfest and BLUG

There is definitely interest in doing something like that.

Quite a few of us were working on gauging interest and the response
everywhere we asked was very positive.

This year we didn't gather too much steam, though we anticipate next
year—with the loss of the IU LinuxFest—there will be more of a drive.

Michael Schultheiss is maintaining indianalinux.org as a place to
gather people with interest so that we can reach each other and get
organized for it.

Hope you're all having a great day! I just finished the last class of
my school year, a history of computing class, and we just finished
watching Revolution O.S.

WooHoo for summer!

Re: [BLUG] Linuxfest and BLUG

Hi Richard,

I can't promise anything, but I'd be willing to talk to the School Of
Informatics (at IUB) and see if we can somehow work out a sponsorship
(or at least a facility). What do you think? How many attendees
usually come to the IU Linuxfest? Do you think there's even any
interest in doing something like that?

Like I said, no promises, but if you're interested I can at least talk
to the school to gauge interest there.

[BLUG] Linuxfest and BLUG

-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----

Hi folks,
Due to changes at IU, our sponsorship of the annual Linuxfest is slated
to go away. We plan on having LF2k8, the 10th IU Linuxfest, this fall.
~ Rather than let this disappear after 2k8, we would like to get the
vendors and regular attendees hooked up with Indiana LUGs in hopes that
the LUGs can make use of these and put together something more like the
Ohio Linuxfest. Would folks from BLUG be interested in meeting with IU
folks and CINLUG folks in order to get this rolling?

Thanks,
Rich

[BLUG] VoIP/SIP phones at the MCP library?

Has anyone tried or do you know if its possible to use SIP/VoIP phones
at the library? Hardware or software? I'm just wondering if they've
blocked them via a firewall or something. I haven't tried yet, but I
thought I'd ask.

[BLUG] Meeting tonight

Is the gathering still on for tonight at Yogi's? I'll be there with
some Linux trivia questions.

[BLUG] BLUG MEETING, Tues. June 10, 7pm, Yogi's

All-

The next BLUG meeting will be held Tuesday, June 10th at 7:00pm. This
month is another "informal" meet-n-greet.

I think I'll call Yogi's again, as that seemed to work last time, and
they have beer (yet let our under-21 friends join in the fun). Yogi's
Bar & Grill is at the corner of 10th St and Indiana Ave. We'll try to
sit near the front.

Who's in?

Cooley

[BLUG] Spiceworks: Anyone Interested?

Hello All:
I'm thinking of using Spiceworks for our school's support ticketing
system/network inventory. It seems pretty straightforward and
intuitive once it is set up correctly. However, my efforts thus far
have not yielded the results I had hoped. I suspect this is mostly
due to my lack of networking experience.

My question is this: Anyone interested in travelling to Columbus, IN,
to help me configure this? This is a paying gig. I can offer more
details - folks can email me off list if they wish.

If this is inappropriate use of this mailing list, I apologize in
advance! (Please let me know if it is.)

Thanks - I enjoy reading the correspondence on this list.
Matt
