some applications are still using the old OSS. For example, the flash
plugin (and maybe other plugins as well) inside firefox is one. Try to
install 'alsa-oss' and use
aoss firefox
to see if that helps or not. You can prefix 'aoss program' for any
programs that are still using OSS.
