Ah, but it's *so* much easier if you can bear the risk!

Reports about Fedora's "preupgrade" command on Gmane's
fedora.general list have been mixed, as you may know. Iiuc, what
it does is download and position the new stuff -- and let it sit,
till the next reboot, which can be at the user's convenience.

Fwiw, as a complete and inherent subtechnoid (perhaps a
lucky one), I've been very pleased with it so far. I'll certainly
try it again, about the week after next, as soon as the F12
bandwidth has had a chance to diminish.
